St Brendans School St Brendans School

National Standards

The National Standards are set for Reading, Writing and Mathematics and outline the achievement expectations all students are required to meet for Years 1 – 8.

To make a decision about whether a student is performing at the National Standard the teacher is required to use a wide range of information to make an overall teacher judgement, not just the scores from one test.

For more information on the National Standards expectations for your child click here or make a time to see your child's teacher.

St Brendan School is committed to acting consistently with these beliefs:
All students can learn and achieve to their full potential.
The primary purpose of assessment is to guide teaching and learning.
For optimum learning to occur students need to believe that they are valued and supported.

We intend to report student achievement in a manner that is consistent with our beliefs and current practice.

Yours sincerely,

Libby Hainsworth
Principal
